2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Release Date, Price, & Photos. The all-new 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss was recently seen doing the off-road testing, providing us with a lot of info, but mostly its design. As shown in these fresh spy images, two Trail Boss prototypes are undergoing off-road testing next to the GMC Hummer EV. According to the most recent rumors, this vehicle will receive a new engine, a turbocharged one to be exact.
Some engines, on the other hand, will no longer be available. As you may be aware, the current Trail Boss model was introduced with a new Premium Package, so this pickup truck has a lot to offer. The Trail Boss is a very popular model since it is not as pricey as the Ford Raptor and other popular off-road models. Given the vehicle’s specifications, the pricing is reasonable and the sales will begin later in 2025.
Engine Options
General Motors has introduced a new engine for its Silverado 1500 pickup truck. The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss and some other variants will now be available with a 2.7-liter turbo-four engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission is also replaced with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. Some engines, such as the 4.3-liter V6 gasoline, are no longer available. Furthermore, the bigger and older 5.3-liter V8 gasoline with active fuel management is being phased out. The new 2.7-liter engine produces 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque.
GM claims that the new Silverado and Trail Boss variants would have smoother power delivery and shifting. As before, engines such as 3.0-liter diesel, and 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 gasoline are once again on offer. The next Silverado ZR2/ Trail Boss ZR2 will also include MultiMatic DSSV dampers, identical to those present on the Chevy Colorado ZR2. The Silverado Trail Boss ZR2 will essentially be a more competent Trail Boss truck with more muscles.
2025 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Spy Shots
The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss prototypes have been spotted in the mud, putting the off-road equipment through all sorts of tests. Notably, one of the Trail Boss prototypes had a sensor on the rear wheels that were used to monitor what the wheels were doing during off-roading. This primarily includes suspension travel. It also looks that one of the rear exhausts was crushed during testing, most likely as the vehicle transitioned into the steep climb test.
These Silverado 1500 Trail Boss prototypes are the “regular” Trail Boss versions, with the more standard front bumper treatment and plastic air deflector. On the other hand, the Silverado ZR2 truck is a slightly different story. The next Silverado ZR2 varies from the “regular” Trail Boss with a more aggressive design, featuring a strong front skid plate treatment and the elimination of the lower front air dam. ZR2 comes with more ground clearance.
