On the performance front, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner will continue relying on the 4.0-liter V-6 engine. The transmission system also remains a five-gear automatic. The engine produces 270 hp at 5, 600 rpm and max torque of 278 pound-feet at 4, 400 rpm.The rear-wheel drive is available but the old-school four-wheel drive seems the only adequate for this machine. There is also an electronic locking rear differential but the multi-terrain select system, crawl control.For the 2025 model year, the TRD Pro version upgrades with the 2.5-inch aluminum-bodied, internal bypass Fox shocks. The TRD tuned coil springs underpin all four corners but the front adds an inch of lift.The 4Runner can tow up to 5, 000 pounds.
