2025 Opel Zafira Goes to Electric: Design, Price, and Specs. Since it became a part of PSA Group, Opel is going through radical changes. Many models will never be the same. The new 2025 Opel Zafira will be a perfect example. In the past, this was a recognizable MPV, characterized by a pretty good balance between functionality and driving characteristics. The new model will be something completely different. Besides, the name, everything else will be changed. The new model will be rather a passenger van than an MPV. Of course, we count on completely new mechanics, including engine lineup.
2025 OPEL ZAFIRA ENGINES
As you may presume, the 2025 Opel Zafira will feature PSA’s familiar engines. Of course, the focus will be on diesel units. Base models will come with a smaller 1.6-liter HDi engine, which will be available in several output versions, in a range between 95 and 120 horsepower. We expect to see a well-known 2.0-liter HDi engine, which will come in two output versions, with either 150 or 177 horsepower. Base models will come with standard 2WD layout, but latest reports suggest 4 × 4 version.
OPEL ZAFIRA ALL-ELECTRIC
As you probably know, Opel’s strategy for the future is all about electrification. It is expected that all models from the lineup will get their electric version before 2024. Allegedly, the new 2025 Opel Zafira will be one of the first models to get it. The exact details about this drivetrain are still unavailable and we won’t speculate at this point. Still, latest reports are suggesting that the all-electric version will be ready for the initial launch, to hit the market along with other versions.
2025 OPEL ZAFIRA REDESIGN
The upcoming redesign will brings tons of novelties. First of all, we will see a radical change in terms of the overall design. The new model will be a passenger van, significantly higher and notably bigger than the outgoing model. We are about to see three versions in terms of length and interior configuration, but three versions will feature less than 75 inches in height, which is hugely important in Europe, due to standard garage dimensions. In terms of mechanics, the new model will ride on PSA’s familiar EMP2 platform. This architecture is highly modular, so it’s no wonder it underprints pretty much all models from the French carmaker. In this particular case, we will see most similarities with Toyota ProAce. This also refers to aesthetics, though the 2025 Opel Zafira will come with its’ own face.
INTERIOR
As we already mentioned, the new 2025 Opel Zafira will come in the sizes. This will determine the interior design of each model. The smallest version will compete with compact MPV’s and its main advantage should be class-leading capacity, which will go up to 9 passengers. Bigger version won’t feature much more seats, but will rather focus on comfort and be some kind of luxury, VIP vehicles.
RELEASE DATE AND PRICE
We expect to see 2025 Opel Zafira in the next year, though a more precise date is still a mystery. When it comes to price, it looks that base models will go around 34.000 Euros. Key rivals will be models like VW Touran, Seat Alhambra, Ford Galaxy etc
