When Volvo presented the 40.1 Concept in 2016, it was a matter of time when this brand will launch the new compact crossover. According to some scenarios brand’s new entry-level crossover was expected as the 2018 model but now when we know all details about this lovely crossover it’s clear it will join the lineup as the 2025 Volvo XC40 It will be the strongest competitor to the 2025 BMW X1.Volvo’s new crossover will go on sale in summer 2018 but can be ordered now. Volvo will also offer this model with the inline-3 and turbodiesel engines but hasn’t confirmed these options for the US.
2025 VOLVO XC40: DESIGN
The new and brand’s smallest crossover marks the debut of the new Compact Modular Architecture which will also underpin future compact cars and hatchbacks. Compared to brand’s next-level XC60 crossover, the XC40 is 10.4 inches shorter, just 0.1 inches lower and the wheelbase is 6.4 inches shorter.Visually, the model has angular bodywork and brand’s familiar but modernized styling elements. The rear end comes with brand’s familiar taillights shape and nice rear bumper.
INTERIOR, EQUIPMENT:
Inside, the attention will get standard, portrait-oriented 9.0-inch touch screen with Apple Car Play and Android features also available in all versions. The Sensus infotainment system will also support Pandora and Yelp connectivity, and the standard is also Bluetooth audio streaming. All versions will also come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.At the launch, Volvo will offer this model in two trims, the T4 Momentum, and T5 R-Design. The Momentum will come with 18-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, power liftgate, power driver seat, leather upholstery, etc.Available will also be 13-speaker Harman Kardon system, heated front seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, surround view system, parking assist, dual-zone climate control and much more.The second trim option will upgrade with 19-inch wheels, fog lights, sports chassis tuning, upgraded leather, paddle shifters, hands-free tailgate, etc.
2025 VOLVO XC40: POWERTRAIN OPTIONS
Volvo will initially launch the 2025 Volvo XC40 with two powertrain options. Volvo hasn’t said the power and torque figures of the base version.A more powerful option will provide 250 hp and torque 258 lb-ft. The all-wheel drive with part-time Haldex rear axle clutch will be standard on this version.Volvo won’t likely offer the manual gearbox and lower output engine options that will be available in other markets. The 2.0-liter 180 hp diesel will also be available on the Old Continent but we don’t expect it in the US.
2025 VOLVO XC40: ARRIVAL, PRICE
The 2025 Volvo XC40 will arrive in summer 2018. The front-wheel-drive version will cost $34, 195. The all-wheel drive will start at $36, 195.
