2025 Ford F-750 Changes, Specs and Release Date. Medium-duty trucks, including the 2025 Ford F-750 are US-built machines. Every part is coming from the Blue Oval company, including a turbodiesel engine. During the last 35 years, since these trucks of 6 and 7 series are available with Ford’s badge, things have changed a lot. While there were many partnerships during history, in 2016 the US truckmaker started to do everything by itself. The last two things we had that had no Ford’s touch on it were Cummins engine and Allison engine. Now, there are Power Stroke diesel drivetrain and a new six-speed transmission. These improvements are not bringing advantages to the 2025 Ford F-750 and the medium-duty class. The new engine and transmission are under the hood of F-250, F-350, and F-450. Furthermore, the new F-750 will have a more comfortable cabin. Ever since the appearance of the Power Stroke unit, the cockpit is quieter. Now, Ford is upgrading the offer with various features to make the truck safer and convenient. These updates are making Ford a leader in this segment since we didn’t wait for too long for the response from its archrival. General Motors already launched Silverado 4500 and 5500 (ex Kodiak and TopKick). Next year we could see Series 6 and 7 of light-duty trucks.
2025 Ford F-750 Power Stroke Diesel Engine Specs
The medium-duty trucks are well known for its turbodiesel engine. Both 2025 Ford F-750 and F-650 are getting power from a 6.7-liter V8 diesel unit. In 2016 this engine replaced Cummins powertrain. The same displacement is capable to produce over 900 lb-ft. But, for the F-750 engineers detuned the output to 270 hp and 675 lb-ft of torque. Well, serious truckers will need more energy and twist. Upper trim levels can make 330 horsepower and 730 lb-ft of torque. The truck can go up to 400 hp and 860 pound-feet. The Power Stroke engine managed to overpower the energy created by the Cummins unit before 2016.Besides the engine, Ford also replaced the transmission. Again, a partnership with Allison was discontinued and the US company started developing its own gearbox. Now, the power router for the 2025 Ford F-750 is a six-pace TorqShift case box. Part of the equipment became Power Take-Off feature. It is also available for a petrol drivetrain.
2025 Ford F-750 V10 and the New 7.0-liter Engine
Currently, the 2025 Ford F-750 is using a V10 engine. A 6.8-liter displacement is capable to produce 320 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine also suffered many changes in 2016 when the F-750 entered the new generation. Downtuned, it produces less power but returns better mileage.Soon, a V10 could be replaced. Instead of it, Ford could add a 7.0-liter engine. For a while, we can hear rumors about this drivetrain and its usage. However, everything is still speculation. Some gossips are mentioning the medium-duty class as the segment where Ford could land its new unit. Other favorites are light-duty pickups and Ford F-150 Raptor.
2025 Ford F-750 Exterior and Interior
Ford is not paying too much attention to the design of the light-duty truck. These vehicles are working mules, so the performance is a focus. Still, there is a room for design tweaks and experiments. The 2025 Ford F-750 is finding inspiration in E-Series vans. We will find many similar parts on the truck, only enlarged. Headlights are the same. On the other hand, the hood and bumpers are much more like on the light-duty series. The F-750 will be a larger version of the Super Duty segment if you take a look at cab configuration. The medium-duty models are coming with a chassis cab. There is no bed behind the cabin. Besides cargo boxes, buyers can upgrade many other upfits for their machine. Most of them are coming from aftermarket companies.Super Duty class will borrow features to its larger stablemate. The cockpit is the same for 2025 Ford F-750 and F-350 models. Well, the big rig lacks some infotainment and advanced features. On the other hand, the F-750 will offer all you need for work. Besides that, Ford adds radio and vinyl seats. This will bring some classic design for the working mule. Optionally, a huge screen and smartphone connectivity equipment will be available.
2025 Ford F-750 Price and Competition
The price of the new 2025 Ford F-750 will start above $60,000. The smaller F-650 is available for $55,000. With a diesel unit, the truck will cost over $70,000.The 2025 Ford F-750 currently has no competition. However, GM made a partnership with Navistar and these companies already brought back series 4 and 5 trucks after a 10-year break. The next steps are Silverado 6500 and 7500 which will rival Ford F-750. We expect similar prices for series 7 models since the Silverado 4500 (Kodiak) starts at $50,000 and series 5 model is a couple of grands higher.
