Kia has given the mid-cycle refresh to its mid-size crossover SUV, the 2025 Kia Sorento The refreshed version brings upgrades on all fronts.Kia offers this model in five trim options. Across the range, the Sorento will come with updated six-speed transmission and new 8-speed automatic. Kia continues with the inline-4 and V-6 engines to the new model year but dropped the 2.0-liter turbo-4.With the updated powertrains, the new Sorento also benefits from a light exterior and interior upgrades. Kia also brings the updated tech and safety gear.
2025 KIA SORENTO: DESIGN
From the visual perspective, the 2025 Kia Sorento isn’t much different from the version it replaces. The new version has tweaked tiger nose grille and headlights. The Sorentos in two top trims will have full-LED headlights while the LED taillights will be on the EX and higher versions.The refreshed Sorento also comes with the reworked rear bumper and “ice cube”- style LED fog lights. The new wheel designs will also be available in 17- and 19-inch diameters.
INTERIOR, EQUIPMENT:
Inside the cabin, buyers will notice new steering wheel and dashboard will also house upgraded instrument cluster design and the design of the air vents. The two top trims also come with better materials and attractive Nappa Leather upholstery and two-tone Terracotta patterns.Equipment wise, the refreshed Sorento benefits from updated infotainment system. Now standard is a 7-inch touchscreen-based infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. As an upgrade, available will be an 8-inch infotainment system version.On the safety front, the new Sorento will offer the suite of active safety systems on the EX and higher-spec versions. The systems included will be adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and surround-view system.
2025 KIA SORENTO: POWERTRAINS
For the 2025 model year, Kia discontinued a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine. The base engine remains a 2.4-liter four-cylinder but comes now with the upgraded six-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 185 horsepower.A more powerful option will be familiar 3.3-liter V-6 combined with the new 8-speed transmission. This engine provides 290 hp and like the base version comes with either front or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive V-6 Sorento can tow up to 5, 000 pounds.Kia also promised to offer the diesel-powered Sorento in the US. A 2.4-liter inline-4 turbodiesel from the Euro version is the candidate. This engine makes 197 hp and torque 325 pound-feet.
2025 KIA SORENTO: RELEASE DATE, PRICE
The 2025 Kia Sorento will go on sale in 2018. Kia hasn’t revealed the pricing yet but it is expected to start at around $26, 000.
