2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo Electric Commercial Van: Specs & News. Volkswagen plans to release a new commercial van in 2025. The 2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo is an all-electric van, based on the I.D. Buzz concept. It is an interpretation of company’s iconic Microbus. This model isn’t released yet, but it became an instant hit on numerous auto shows. Volkswagen will put this model on the markets in 2025. The van is intended for commercial use.

Just like its sibling, I.D. Buzz Cargo is based on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive Kit. That means the powertrain and battery can be customized. Thanks to that, the customers can decide how they want to use this van. According to German automaker, this model will provide between 200 and 340 miles.

AUTONOMY LEVEL 4

The German manufacturer will install autonomous driving features in its new van. The 2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo will feature a Level 4 autonomous mode. The driver can turn to the right and work on the laptop while the vehicle takes care of basically everything.

It is another practical system inside this model. Whatsoever, I.D. Buzz Cargo comes with a 3D Augmented Reality display. This head-up unit will position the information in the driver’s line of sight. There will be no mirrors, and Volkswagen will offer numerous cameras instead.

While it owns quite a strong resemblance with the passenger van, the 2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo differs in a couple of ways. For a start, wide-opening rear wing doors are the exterior highlight. This electric van is used for carrying cargo rather than passengers.

Bumpers are all-new and are looking very unique. Each side comes with a sliding door which should improve interior room for shelving. A roof-mounted solar module is available, and it extends vehicle’s range by nine or more miles. Overall, design looks boxy, but it wears a couple of modern cues.

PRACTICAL INTERIOR

On the inside, new Volkswagen’s van will look odd. The forthcoming 2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo won’t offer two front passenger seats. Instead, this model offers a driver seat and a double-seat passenger side bench. You can fold the left half of the bench and create a workspace for the integrated laptop. It looks strange, but it is extremely practical.

Volkswagen is working with the „ Sortimo” company to design a new cargo area with shelving system. This system comes with sensors that are connected to a function control unit. In that way, data can be transferred via modern WLAN to tablets in the cockpit. Now, you can monitor and track the items on the shelves. Finally, I.D. Buzz Cargo offers a 230-volt socket where you can plug tools.

The all-new 2025 VW I.D. Buzz Cargo will offer a 48 kWh battery, integrated under the floor. Moreover, you can increase the battery size to 111 kWh. Thanks to the axles shifted outward, Buzz Cargo will provide more floor space. A 150 kW electric motor delivers 201 horsepower.

Furthermore, a single-speed transmission is mated to the multilink rear axle. The top speed is set at 99 mph, and AWD system is also available. You can charge 80 percent of the battery in 15 minutes via the fast charging system. A 111 kWh battery takes around 30 minutes to charge the same capacity.
